Daniel Lamkin, Esq
Daniel is a licensed attorney and Senior Risk Advisor. He consults with clients on the risk and insurance elements of contracts, on managing claims and on securing and negotiating insurance terms and conditions. With a strong background in the commercial insurance claims field, Daniel is a hands-on advocate for his clients, helping to level the playing field vs the lawyer-heavy insurance industry.
Claims expertise:
After graduating from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2009, Daniel adapted surveillance reports into actionable evidence for an insurance fraud management company. He then took a role with a medical provider caring for patients throughout the auto insurance and workers compensation claim lifecycle. This led Daniel to become well versed in negotiating with insurance adjusters, third-party administrators, claimants and attorneys on both sides of the claim. As a litigated claims specialist, Daniel focused his efforts on the most complicated injury claims where the legal issues could drag on for years. Negotiating the resolution of claims between multiple parties became a daily focus.
Daniel then began serving as an adjuster and account manager at a third-party administrator for complex long-tail claims involving asbestos, hazardous waste, and concussion related sports injuries. During this period, Daniel grew his proficiency in the analysis of employer’s liability and general liability, including issues related to the London insuring markets.
Contracts expertise
Daniel’s first experience in contract negotiations began at a consumer goods company that used professional and collegiate sports team’s trademarks for use on their products. He assisted in the review of licensing agreements with organizations such as the NFL, MLB, NBA, and NCAA, and gained expertise in intellectual property matters
Later, he conducted hundreds of real estate purchase and refinance closings and became an expert in contract review and negotiation. Being the team member who was face to face with clients, Daniel learned how to communicate technically complex subject matter in terms that everyone can comfortably understand. He also worked as a consultant to a start-up, handling their corporate formation, employment strategy, safety regulations and service agreements.
Insurance Negotiation
Since joining LicataRisk, Daniel has taken his prior insurance experience and sharpened it in the areas of insurance language negotiation, now applying the leverage of the insurance market competitive process to obtain the very best terms and cost for his clients.
